Christian Grube, the Chorale's Artistic Director, is emeritus professor of choral conducting at the Berlin University of Arts. His choirs are known for their exquisite sound, impeccable intonation, broad range of dynamic expression, and ability to interpret the most diverse styles.

Antonin Dvořák’s “Mass in D Major” is one of his greatest choral works. Composers are not always happy with their compositions, but in the case of his mass Dvořák said that he was extremely satisfied with the result of his efforts. The Chorale will conclude its 27th season with this rarely performed masterpiece, in the original version from 1887 for solo voices, mixed choir and organ accompaniment. The concert will begin with motets by the beloved contemporary California composer Morten Lauridsen --motets from “Lux Aeterna” and “O Magnum Mysterium”--, interspersed with motets by masters of the English Renaissance (William Byrd, Thomas Tallis, Richard Farrant, Thomas Weelkes).
